Autumn Update
Summer already feels a very long time ago, doesn’t it? The nights may be drawing in but we’re certainly not seeing any sign of things slowing down at Tobacco Dock. Since the spring, we’ve hosted an incredible selection of events, from international mega-conferences to delicious food festivals, young enterprise events to product launches.

Event Trend Watch
As the tumult of Covid settles, we’re finally seeing a pronounced shift away from the trend for very short lead times, with many key dates for 2023 and 2024 already in demand and contracted.
Of course, we’re still seeing some events taking place in a smaller window and we’re proud of our ability to move at pace. In September we had an event for 500 make an enquiry on Friday 9th, visit and contract on Monday 12th and hold their event on Friday 16th. It was a great success, though we’d probably prefer a little more notice in future!

Team bonding
While this busy time has been welcome after the enforced emptiness of 2020 and early 2021, we wanted to give the team a chance to unwind and connect outside the Grade 1 listed walls of Tobacco Dock.
A couple of days on the Goodwood Estate in West Sussex proved the perfect pick-me-up. We kicked off proceedings with an inspiring training session with The Foundry, exploring how we can level up our teamwork, as well as hatching some big plans (watch this space!).
Work done, we all tried our hands at clay pigeon shooting – as a team well used to smashing our targets, this seemed like the ideal activity. After a special dinner at The Kennels, the next morning was spent exploring the estate, unwinding by the pool and hitting the golf course.
As well as being a big treat, this trip cemented the team bond and gave everyone a much needed recharge as we work on an events calendar that’s bursting at the seams – just the way we like it!

Run by Skylight Bars (they of our iconic rooftop bar), Pitchside will be showing all the matches in a stunning back-of-the-net experiential bar, complete with multi LED screens, delicious street food, flowing beer and even half time DJs to get the atmosphere going.

We appreciate it might not feel quite the time to be talking turkey, but no sooner have the schools gone back than the scrabble to Christmas begins!
